I don’t especially care about Halloween as it’s not really a thing where I live. But I love creating around creepy-yet-cute monsters, so I did Halloween-themed chocolate covers for 5 years in a row.
What you need:
- chocolates (I used Côte d’Or)
- paper
- colour printer
- scissors
- pencil
- ruler
- glue roller
- wobbly eyes
- small glue dots
Measure your chocolate. Mine was 5,5 cm.
Cut out a longer piece of paper that is as wide as the value you measured above.
Wrap the chocolate in the paper and cut it like this.
Measure the long side of the paper now. I got 11 cm.
Wrap the chocolate into the paper again and make marks so that you know where to centre your future design.
In Photoshop, create a blank file with a transparent background whose size corresponds with your measurements. Name it as you wish. 🙂
Put guidelines at the points where your marks were.
Create your design.
Create a new blank file (with a transparent background again) whose size corresponds to the size of the paper your printer uses. Mine uses A4, which is called International Paper in Photoshop.
Go back to your design, press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+E. This creates a new layer with your design flattened. Use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste it into your new blank file, as many times as the paper can take.
In case you used a very light colour for your design, create a new layer, place it underneath your design and paint it in light grey. That will make your life easier when you cut the shapes.
Print and cut your shapes.
Wrap the chocolate into the printed paper so as your design is where it should be…
…turn it to the back side…
…and use a glue roller to glue it together. I prefer non-permanent one, as the chocolate can be unwrapped without destroying your paper.
And here is the result:
Now use small glue dots apply the wobbly eyes.
And this is the result.
You can have fun with using several kinds of wobbly eyes, too.
And you can create as many designs as you like…
